Bio

Cody Ibasfalean was born and raised in Manatee County, Florida. He attended the University of South Florida, where he graduated with a B.A. in History and Political Science in 2013, Cum Laude. Mr. Ibasfalean then went on to attend Stetson University College of Law on an Academic Scholarship, graduating in 2016. That same year, Mr. Ibasfalean was admitted to the Florida Bar.

Legal Experience

Mr. Ibasfalean began his legal career as a certified legal intern with Gulfcoast Legal Services in St. Petersburg, Florida. Following his graduation from Stetson Law, he continued to work with Gulfcoast Legal Services, first as a staff attorney focusing exclusively on family law matters, and later as the Senior Supervising Attorney of the Manatee Family Law Project. In this role, Mr. Ibasfalean assisted numerous victims of domestic violence and human trafficking in all types of family law matters, such as divorce, establishment of paternity, and child support.

In addition to his career with legal aid, Mr. Ibasfalean also founded and maintained a collaborative family law practice. In this role, he helped clients navigate the often stressful and litigious nature of family law cases by alternative dispute resolution mean such as negotiation, mediation, and by use of the collaborative family law model, a non-adversarial approach to family law.

Most recently, Mr. Ibasfalean worked for a local domestic violence shelter, representing numerous individuals in obtaining domestic violence injunctions. In this role, Mr. Ibasfalean gained valuable litigation experience.

Mr. Ibasfalean resides locally with his wife of 18 years and their four children.
